Ski Touring Introduction - Course Summary (6 Day course with 5 Days Guiding
based in Chamonix)
Based in Chamonix with its dramatic scenery the area is perfect to start ski
touring with countless tours at all levels. Mountain Guides ski touring course is
designed for the competent skier with some off-piste experience who wishes to
explore the skiing opportunities away from the ski areas. By teaching the use of
ski touring equipment and techniques along with avalanche awareness skills
we will give you the experience and knowledge to start ski touring with your friends
or join one of Mountain - Guides other ski tours such as the world famous High Level Route.
Ski Touring Introduction - Sample Program

Introduction and gear check |
| Day 2 |
Off piste
skiing, transceiver training and basic ski touring skills |
| Day 3 |
A short ski
tour, from Brevent to the Aiguillette des Houches, avalanche awareness and crevasse rescue skills |
| Day 4 |
A longer ski
tour on glaciated terrain from Argentiere over the Col du Passon
climbing a couloir with axes and crampons and descending to La Tour. |
| Day 5 & 6 |
A two day ski
tour staying overnight in the Grand St Bernard Monastery. |
Pre-Requisites
Participants on this course must be able to ski red runs confidently and must have some off-piste skiing experience.

- Sunday 26 February - Friday 02 March.
Prices
- £450.00 per person
- Minimum group size - 4
- Maximum group size - 6.

- Equipment: harness, probe, shovel & transceiver
