Introduction to Summer Walking and Trekking
Welcome to walking and trekking tours. Our aim is to offer you the ultimate
hiking experience by providing a professional and exceptionally high quality
service. We use only experienced and fully qualified International Mountain
Leaders to provide you with an unforgettable mountain experience.
This
qualification, which is recognised throughout Europe, means our leaders are
legally qualified to accompany walking groups. Not all trip organisers use legal
guides which could put you as a client at risk.
In partnership with Tracks and Trails we have specially handpicked and
designed what we believe are some of the most scenic and exhilarating walking
journeys in the Alps. We offer breathtaking walks or hikes in several different
areas some of which encompass travelling through three different countries in
almost as many days.
All our International Mountain Leaders are consummate professionals with a
passion for the outdoors. Our hikes are challenging, fun and educational yet
designed to offer you a relaxing and stress free holiday.
Our trips are meticulously planned and by using two guides the group size is
never more than eight. Our personal minibus support means that you have your luggage ready and waiting
for you each afternoon at any hotel that has vehicle access. The minibus is also
available for those that are feeling the pace and would prefer a day off from
the hike. In this case a shorter excursion is often an option on arrival at that
evenings venue.

The Mountain Leaders
Our regular guides, Lindsay Cannon and Julia Tregaskis, are both International Mountain Leaders.
Lindsay has spent over ten years exploring the Alps and has great enthusiasm for and
knowledge of the mountain environment. When not in the Alps she lives in the
Highlands of Scotland and reports for BBC television and radio on a wide range
of environmental and countryside issues. Lindsay’s film work, which has seen her
experience everything from ice-climbing, to pot-holing, and kayaking, enjoys a
worldwide audience. She is also an enthusiastic rock climber and ski
mountaineer.
Julia has worked in outdoor education since 2002
leading expeditions worldwide from
Africa to the Himalayas. She is passionate about a variety of sporting
activities, regularly competing in running, triathlon and cross-country ski
races. Julia is also a BASI Nordic Ski Instructor. She previously worked as a
Personal Trainer in London, so if you feel that improving personal fitness is a
major part of your mountain holiday, then Julia is ideally qualified to give
advice on how to reach your goal.
